Running in a life that rocks

Running in a life that rocks

About

Kate is from Sydney, Australia, and fell in love with running in 2012 when she decided, for no particular reason that she can remember, to run a marathon. That one goal turned into a love affair with running that keeps her sane during the day, and fuels the blog at night.

YES. Right here is why I love to coach. Because when people hit that first big running thing – be it their first 5K, 10K, non-stop run, personal best, whatever – they get that same smile on their faces that you had after your intervals. That big, goofy, child-like, “Holy s%()#, I just DID that!”

Then, for many of them, something shifts in their lives. They walk a little taller, speak with a bit more confidence, and yes – decide to take some new risks. Because they’ve seen that if they plan, work hard, and execute carefully – they can do amazing things.

    Running changes lives.

Such a great post, as always Miss Kate. I agree with you. When I am running (and grinning like an idiot too) I feel like I can conquer any obstacle in my path. Lately I have been getting up at 5am (no, sanity is not an option in my lifestyle) and running while the stars are still out and then just as I come home the sun has started to rise. For the rest of the day, no matter what comes across my desk, I know that I am capable. I can take down any challenge because I have found my center already. Out there, on the road.
I am so lucky to be surrounded by inspiring people, but I have to say that one person who inspires me the most is my hairdresser. She has raised seven wonderful kids (my age now), raised money for charity and dedicated her own time to resettling refugees in the community, she works in aged care now and has travelled to Africa to help people. She is one of the most truly humanitarian and caring people I know.
I am proud of myself for graduating uni, and then going back when I discovered that I wanted to change my life. Plus, I’m just a nerd :)

Other runners inspire me. Because they get it. I always feel stronger when I run and special.

You crazy runner girl INSPIRE me! I haven’t had a runners high in over a month and just reading this post made the hairs on my arms stand up. I bet those 400s were begging for mercy!!! ;)

I am inspired by real, normal runners like me who balance work, life, and running and stay dedicated to it all!
