Jenelle the Fit Nut

About

Kate is from Sydney, Australia, and fell in love with running in 2012 when she decided, for no particular reason that she can remember, to run a marathon. That one goal turned into a love affair with running that keeps her sane during the day, and fuels the blog at night.

Jenelle is one BA mother runner! Training for a marathon while taking on the hardest job in the world (Motherhood) is an inspiration… pushing a Pram while running is no joke!

Question for Jenelle – Do you vary the distance you run during your 5 runs/week? Do you have a set goal or do you just run til you feel like you want to call it a day?

      Hey Molly,

Thanks for your question. I do vary my 5 runs. No matter what I am training for I tend to have 2 easy paced runs each week anywhere between 30 -90 minutes. Then the other 3 sessions are “hard” sessions…. either tempo, hills, intervals or Long run. Depends on what I am training for. At the moment it is a marathon and a fairly flat one so I am focusing on speed stuff and building distance.

Even when I was not running to a training program I still got a similar variety of sessions in. Guess I am just a creature of habit
Hope this answers your question and it is very nice to meet you.:=)

Great feature!! I can completely relate… I need those endorphins, and don’t know how people go without. And I’m training for my second marathon, too. :)

You know they say you have to be a little bit crazy to run a marathon so what does that make the people who go back to do it all again – SUPER CRAZY I think ;=)

Looking forward to sharing some virtual 5kms with you to break it all up!

Oh my yes those endorphins are goood! I am excited for both of you, and kind of jealous. There’s something about those long runs that is so rewarding and yet so humbling.

Loved your post! I am also addicted to my Garmin and completely agree that without the endorphins from running (and cyclin) I would be a completely cranky mom! Nice to meet another Australian fit nut:)
