My main motivation to be fit is so that I can be here for my son and be an active part of his future. I don’t want to sit on the sidelines of my life. I want to play quarterback, running back and linebacker. I want to be a part of all of the “big plays” in my life.
I know that no one around me thought that this weight came on quickly, but as I started looking at pictures, I was shocked… How did I let this weight creep back on me!
After my divorce, I lost over 60 lbs. I didn’t do it by working out. I did it by going to the weight loss doctor and taking a pill. It was great! It was so easy. They actually told me NOT to work out. So I stopped… That was all fine until I lost the weight and went off the meds. Slowly the weight crept back…
I am not going to take pills this time. I can do this without meds! I will do this with heart and drive! And that is it! It’s my time!
Abby is on a journey to go from overweight couch potato to healthy living marathon runner. A teacher by day, she spend her nights and weekends running, eating, and blogging about all the ups and downs along this crazy adventure – creating a new, healthy, lifestyle. Now matter how many time injury strikes, or a bump in the road throws her back to square zero, she refuses to quit.
Run with Kate covers all things running – what was first a blog is now a space for bloggers and fit nuts to share their running, and contribute to the online community.
