Death to Thinspiration

Kate is from Sydney, Australia, and fell in love with running in 2012 when she decided, for no particular reason that she can remember, to run a marathon. That one goal turned into a love affair with running that keeps her sane during the day, and fuels the blog at night.

Start feeling healthy from the inside out – and not the other way around. <— Amen.

You’ll love this – now that I am beginning to get the balance right, I’ve been pt on a high protein diet for training. Guess I’m going to have to hit your recipe pages!!

I think I read this on your last blog? Anyway I just re-subscribed but I remember seeing those pictures.

It kinda gets me when people who’ve dealt with body image issues, whether it’s an ED or not, suddenly go all “I love my body” on us. I’m sure that yes, they do love their body more than they used to (and you do too, I can kinda tell from your post)… but it’s almost as if they are in denial that no matter what, we all struggle with that at some point or another. I’ve seen a few people who, seemingly shortly into their recovery, have proclaimed their love for their larger bodies, etc… and I’m glad you shared the real struggle of it. An ED and body image issues of any sort are a mental thing and it does not just “go away”. It’s an everyday struggle to actually love your body and yourself…

Oh so true. You absolutely nailed it.

And yes, it was on the old blog, but sadly was deleted when I got a contractor involved…never again.
